Dr. Chan Kin Yuen is currently practicing as a Consultant Orthopedic Surgeon in Gleneagles Hospital, Kuala Lumpur.
He has been in practice as an Orthopedic Specialist Surgeon since 1990 and has trained abroad at various centres of excellence. Dr. Chan has a special interest in arthroscopic surgery which is a technique that uses small key-holes to access joints for surgical treatment and also joint replacements involving the shoulder, elbow and knee. Arthroscopic surgery is one of the techniques that is commonly used for the treatment of orthopedic sports medicine conditions involving the shoulders, elbow, wrist, knees and ankle joints.
Dr. Chan's approach to treatment is to provide a personalized and individualized care. Not all patients with the same condition are treated the same way as there are many other factors that need to be taken into account that may have a major impact on the appropriate treatment offered. Previously Dr. Chan was involved teaching medical students at Monash University, Sunway, Selangor. Till today Dr. Chan is very active in participating and organizing national and international conferences and courses involving health care professionals such as surgeons, nurses, and general practitioners.
Dr. Chan is very active in writing articles and occasionally appears on talk shows or interviews on radio or television.
