Cool-sculpting- Aesthetic Medicine/ Cosmetology

CoolSculpting, or cryolipolysis, is done by freezing fat cells from particular areas of the body to remove excess body fat. It is a type of cosmetic treatment similar to liposuction.

CoolSculpting doesn't involve surgery, cuts, or anesthesia to avoid life and health risks. There may be some side effects, but mostly, this procedure is safe for most individuals.

Why is Cool-Sculpting required?

CoolSculpting is an effective procedure for those who want to be free from excess body fat. It removes body fat from a specific area of the body with a high success rate and has lesser side effects compared to liposuction.

However, don’t expect to achieve complete fat removal. For some individuals, this procedure might not work or may have side effects.

Individuals who wish to have a high success rate in fat removal should consider a change in lifestyle and other factors. Consuming a healthy diet and engaging in physical activities are ways to make CoolSculpting more effective.

Body fat can be removed by this procedure, but it cannot help tighten sagging skin.

Which doctor to consult?

A cosmetic surgeon is the primary doctor to consult with regards to CoolSculpting, or cryolipolysis. You can ask him or her about the procedure, the risks and after-care.

What to expect during Cool-Sculpting

Cool-Sculpting is done by vacuuming the skin above the area of fatty tissue using an applicator that cools the fat cells. Cold is used to numb the area. You may experience a cool feeling during this procedure.

The procedure only takes an hour to complete and there is no downtime, as it is not done with incisions.

A tugging sensation and soreness may be felt when undergoing this procedure. Some individuals may not feel any side effects.

Post-operative care

Individuals are not required to be in a recovery room after this procedure, as it does not involve cutting, tissue manipulation, or anesthesia. However, body fat cells take about 4-6 months to be full removed from the body.

Complications

Minor complications may occur after the procedure, but they may only last for a day or weeks. The usual side effects are numbness and loss of sensation due to the procedure.

  • Bruising
