About the Doctor / Professional
Dr. Ananda graduated from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland in 1987. He began his pediatric training in Dublin at the Temple Street Children’s Hospital and Rotunda Hospital before joining the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne, Australia. He did his neonatal training at the Royal Women’s Hospital in Melbourne before returning to join the neonatal department at Selayang Hospital.
Dr. Ananda has extensive experience in neonatology with over 25 years in this field alone. He introduced high-frequency ventilation into Gleneagles Hospital, the first private hospital to acquire this technology. He also introduced nitric oxide therapy (NO) therapy to Gleneagles Hospital which is one of a handful of hospitals in the country that continues to provide this treatment.
His expertise lies in the management of all sick newborn infants particularly extremely premature infants from 24 weeks and/or 500 grams upwards. He also continues their follow up as out-patients. He also admits and treats general pediatric conditions.
Dr. Ananda is an accredited trainer for the Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) and regularly provides training to hospital staff. He is also actively involved in the neonatal training of the nursery staff in the hospital.
