About the Doctor / Professional

Dr. Osama is a Consultant Pediatrician with over 40 years of experience in his field. He received his Medical Degree from the University of Baghdad, College of Medicine and completed his residency in Pediatrics. Since then, he has accumulated a wealth of experience as a Pediatrician, first in Iraq as a Resident Physician and Pediatrician with some of the country’s top teaching hospitals.

After receiving his Board certification he practiced Pediatrics in Iraq, then in Jordan as an Attendant Physician and Consultant Pediatrician. He began working in the UAE in 1999, practicing in both General Pediatrics as well as Neonatal & Pediatric intensive care.

Dr. Osama brings vast knowledge and expertise gained from enrollment in specialty training courses and clinical programs at some of the world’s most renowned hospitals and institutions, including in the UK and the Hospital for Sick Children in Canada.

For the last 15 years, he worked as a Consultant Pediatrician and Department Head at Baraha Hospital in Dubai, where he was responsible for Inpatient care at the Pediatric & Neonatal Intensive Care, and Outpatient care at the hospital’s Pediatric unit.

Dr. Osama specializes in General Pediatric problems and infections, Pediatric Respiratory problems and Pediatric GI tract & Urinary Tract problems. He is also focused on preventative healthcare issues and is the US certified International Lactation Consultant, since 2002. He has been heavily involved in medical education programs and from 2008 to 2014 served as Assistant Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Sharjah, College of Medicine, and Department of Pediatrics. In this role, he supervised upper year Medical students and integrated their transition into Medical practice in a hospital setting.
