About the Doctor / Professional
A scholar of the American College of Gastroenterology (ACG) Young Physician Leadership Program, Dr. Kerdsirichairat received his medical degree from Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University in Thailand with distinctions and First Class Honors. He completed his internal medicine residency at the University of Minnesota, a gastroenterology fellowship at the University of Michigan, and an advanced/therapeutic endoscopy fellowship at Johns Hopkins University. He is a Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine, and has served as a member of the ACG Training Committee and a Co-Director of the 2019 Second Year Fellows Course. He has been awarded several teaching as well as excellence in clinical practice awards. He has received several awards, including the AGA-Gastroenterology Research Group (AGA-GRG) Fellow Abstract award, in addition to multiple plenary presentations for three organizing societies (The American Gastroenterological Association (AGA), The Society for Surgery of the Alimentary Tract (SSAT), and The American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE) at the Digestive Disease Week conferences. He has authored multiple peer-reviewed publications on acute pancreatitis, pancreatic cancer, cholangiocarcinoma, and immunoglobulin 4-related diseases, in addition to the biliary module of the Gastrointestinal Endoscopy Self-Assessment IX (GESAP IX) for the ASGE. His research focused on therapeutic endoscopy in pancreatitis and its spectrum, including walled-off necrosis, cholangiocarcinoma, and pancreatic cancer, as well as the utility of post-imaging processing, molecular analysis, and scoring systems to improve management of these conditions. In addition to his role as an advanced and bariatric endoscopist at Bumrungrad International Hospital, he serves as a mentor for the ASGE and the ACG mentoring programs. His recent great news is that one of his mentees from these programs has been accepted to the advanced endoscopy fellowship program at Johns Hopkins.
