Prof. Dr. Niebuhr is the developer of the 2 mm MILS technique: inguinal hernias in microinvasive TAPP technique with 2 mm instruments and the smallest punctures in the abdominal wall; almost scarless surgery. He is a specialist for Dr. med. Reinpold developed MILOS surgery for minimally invasive surgery of navel, abdominal wall and scar fractures with plastic mesh implantation outside the abdominal cavity - and not as usual in the abdominal cavity. The MILOS method is currently regarded worldwide as the gentlest and complication-poorest procedure for abdominal wall fractures. In addition, he is a specialist in sonographic examinations of the abdominal wall and inguinal region using the DIUS method developed by him (Dynamic Inguinal Ultra Sound).
