He sub-specializes in female urological matters such as overactive bladders and urinary incontinence as well as men’s health problems which include erectile dysfunctions and prostate diseases. He performs urological implant surgeries such as sling and artificial urinary sphincters for patients with urinary incontinence problems and penile implants for patients with erectile dysfunction. He also performs various oncological procedures both open and minimally invasive for kidney, bladder and prostate cancers.</p> <p>Dr. Lo conducts various neuro-reconstructive procedures for patients, both adult and pediatric, with bladder dysfunction commonly seen in those with spinal injuries or in patients with stroke, Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s diseases. He has delivered the largest series of Botox injections in patients with overactive bladders in Malaysia and is the only Urologist in Southeast Asia who performs sacral neuromodulation procedures (bladder pacemaker) for bladder dysfunctions and artificial urinary sphincters for female patients with severe urine leaks.</p> <p><strong>Academic Background & Training</strong></p> <p>Dr. Lo was trained in Malaysia and overseas. He underwent subspecialty fellowship training in Neuro Reconstructive Urology and Female Urology in the United Kingdom at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, Glasgow and had a fellowship attachment in functional urology at the University Hospital California Davis in California, United States.</p> <p>He is also a highly trained and Europe-certified robotics surgeon, specializing in various complicated robotic surgeries for prostate and kidney cancers. He obtained his fellowship training in Robotic uro-oncology at the Peter Mc Callum Cancer Centre in Melbourne and at Guy’s Hospital & St Thomas Hospital, London. He also trained at Pitie Salpetriere Hospital, Paris in robotic functional urology. He attended Stanford University School of Medicine and received his M.D. degree. He completed his urology residency at the Johns Hopkins Hospital followed by a urologic oncology fellowship in prostate and kidney cancer surgery at the National Cancer Institute.</p> <p>Dr. Rogers performs both robotic and laparoscopic surgery to remove kidney tumors. Whenever possible, he uses robotic assistance to remove the tumor while saving the rest of the normal kidney in order to preserve kidney function. He also performs open surgery for kidney tumors that are not amenable to a minimally invasive approach.
