IN WHAT CASES TONSILLECTOMY IS NEEDED?

In the case of sleep apnea and snoring (provided that the tonsillar is hypertrophic), tonsillectomy is definitely necessary both in adults and children. Apart from this, if there is one-sided tonsillar extension (which is a reason for medical suspicion of tumor), if there is repeated throat infection for 5 times in a year or for 3 times in each 3 consecutive years, if there is foul breath that cannot be explained by any other reason, then tonsillectomy if also suitable.
