THE NATURAL WAY TO DETOX YOUR BODY

THE NATURAL WAY TO DETOX YOUR BODY

Detoxification is a process that our bodies constantly undergo. It can become more and more difficult for our body to handle the demand for its natural cleansing process as we ingest more and more toxins found in our modern lives.

Sources of toxins

We live in an environment that has very high risk of getting toxins, including heavy metals, BPAs from plastic bottles that contaminate the water we drink, pesticides, and the chemicals found in the foods we eat. Even household and personal care products may have some toxins that we inhale or absorb into ourt skin. And toxins do not only come from external sources: we get toxins from inside our bodies. Yeast infections, bad bacteria in the gut and inflammation from stress and negative emotions. Some of these sources of toxins can be avoided, but some of them can’t. And the can lead to negative symptoms in the body.

Symptoms of excessive toxins

Most people may not noticed that they have toxins in their body, because the symptoms of intoxication are non-specific. Some may have skin conditions, e.g. rashes, acne, allergies and hair loss. Some may relate to energy and mood, e.g. fatigue, anxiety, depression, frequent illness, headache, loss of libido and insomnia. Some may relate to gut function, e.g. constipation, bloating and poor digestion.

A natural way to detox the body for beginners

  1. 7-day plant-based diet: clean eating by only consuming fresh vegetables and fruits, and avoiding meat, dairy, alcohol, salt and sugar.
  2. 30 minutes 5-day exercise programme: starting to move the body, and limiting the time spent on the computer or in front of the TV to less than 8 hours per day.
  3. 5-minute meditation daily: stress may disturb hormone function and create inflammation in the body.  Practicing meditation every day before you go to bed can help you to sleep better.
  4. Getting 8 hours sleep each night: it is important not only to get enough sleep, but to also to ensure that it is good quality sleep. Try to go to bed before 10 or 11pm, in order to give your body enough time to produce growth hormones needed to repair itself.

You can also consult your doctor to check your toxin indication levels within the body, such as heavy metals, minerals, and inflammation markers. In some cases, treatment plans to eliminate toxins from the body can be helpful.

Detoxification is not a one-time process. You need to challenge yourself to change your lifestyle. Developing healthier habits and sticking to them is the key to a healthier life.
