Dr. Josephine Jose

Dr. Josephine Jose is a Senior Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynecology in Mediclinic Welcare Hospital. She did her undergraduate and postgraduate medical studies in India and the UK. 

Dr. Josephine has worked for 34 years at the Latifa Maternity and Pediatric Hospital, a leading tertiary care center for Obstetrics and Gynecology and 4 years in The International Modern Hospital in Dubai. Some of her achievements are:

• Associate Professor at the Dubai Medical College for Girls
• Examining Faculty at the Dubai Medical College
• Co-Director for Residency training at the Latifa Hospital
• Vice-Chairman for the Mother Friendly Hospital Initiative at the Latifa Hospital in Dubai, achieved for promoting Natural childbirth practices and reducing rate of interventions including Cesarean section

Dr. Josephine likes to spread community awareness for women’s health issues by doing talks and writing newspaper article

• Performing complicated cesarean sections and cesarean hysterectomy
• Special interest in the management of preterm deliveries
• Successfully performed Rescue cerclage for incompetent cervix using the double cerclage method, for cases of mid trimester recurrent miscarriages for the last 10 years
• Perform external version for breech presentation
• Promoting natural childbirth practices through antenatal education, support of birth plans and minimal intervention
• Skilled in Instrumental deliveries like forceps and vacuum deliveries.
