Dr. Aljassim, as well as working at Mediclinic City Hospital, is also head of the Cardiothoracic Surgery Department at Dubai Health Authority. He qualified as a doctor and did his specialist training in Sweden before moving to Dubai in 2005 to further his career. He obtained his clinical PhD degree on a thesis titled 'Aortic Valve Surgery' from the Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery, Sahlgrenska University Hospital, Gothenburg, Sweden.
