Dr. Tom Bourne

Tom Bourne was previously a Swedish MRC scientific fellow at Goteborg University, writing his Ph.D. diagnostic approaches to ovarian & endometrial cancer. He is now Consultant Gynecologist at Queen Charlottes and Chelsea Hospital, Professor of Practice at Imperial College London and visiting Professor at KU Leuven Belgium. He has a national and international reputation in all aspects of the use of ultrasonography in gynecology including early pregnancy, endometriosis, emergency gynecology and cancer diagnosis.

He has published over 300 peer reviewed papers, has an h-index of 75 with Google Scholar and has been asked to speak at numerous meetings in the UK and abroad. He is treasurer of the International Society for Ultrasound in Obstetrics & Gynecology and will become President in 2020. He sits on the steering committee of the International Ovarian Tumor Analysis (IOTA) trial, is President of UK Association of Early Pregnancy Units and director of early pregnancy research at the Tommy’s national center for miscarriage research in the UK. In 2015 he was awarded honorary fellowship of the AIUM and in 2016 honorary membership of ASUM.
