Dr. Mir is the Head of the Hand Surgery and Microsurgery Unit of the Orthopedic Traumatology and Surgery Department of the Hospital Universitari Dexeus Grupo Quirónsalud and is a Professor at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. He is a leader in Sports Medicine and has conducted many surgeries on injured elite athletes. Some of the elite athletes operated by Dr. Mir are motorcycle pilots Jorge Lorenzo, Dani Pedrosa and Marc Márquez. Doctor of the KTM-Repsol team during the Dakar rallies of 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009.

He is the author of numerous scientific publications and articles as well as books. He has been Editor and Director of the Ibero-American Hand Surgery Journal and Member of the Council of Experts of the Spanish Orthopaedic and Traumatology Journal and a frequent collaborator of specialized journals. Professor of Orthopedic Surgery and Trauma Medicine at the Autonomous University of Barcelona (from March 1998 to present).

He has published 22 indexed international articles, 51 national articles, approximately 300 presentations and 10 book articles.

With over 25 years’ experience, he has balanced his work as Head of the Upper Extremity and Hand Microsurgery Unit at ICATME (Dexeus U.H.), Head of the Upper Extremity Unit at Vall d´Hebrón University Hospital and Head of the MotoGP™ Medical Team. He is currently Head of the Upper Extremity and Hand Microsurgery Unit at ICATME, Dexeus University Hospital in Barcelona (September 1992 - present).
