About the Doctor / Professional
Prof. Dr. med. Wolf Robert Drescher is the Head of Department of Orthopedic Surgery of the Lower Extremities and Endoprosthetics at the Sana Hospital Rummelsberg. The long-standing expertise of Professor Drescher and his team of physicians lies in the surgical joint-preserving and replacement therapy of deformities and wear-related diseases of the hip and knee joints. In the field of minimally invasive hip arthrosis, Professor Drescher has introduced a unique therapy concept. Here, minimally invasive and muscle-sparing procedures are combined with the treatment pathway "fast-track surgery" from Denmark. This means that the detachment or severing of muscles can be dispensed with and the patient can dare to take the first steps with the artificial hip on the day of the operation. Professor Drescher is a nationally and internationally recognized expert in joint-preserving hip surgery and femoral head necrosis and has received several awards.
