The Sana Heart Center Cottbus is a high-performance, specialized hospital at the most modern level, where more than 4,500 cardiac surgery and cardiology patients are treated as inpatients every year. Since the first operation on June 7, 1995, more than 35,000 open heart operations have been performed. Modern technology and innovative therapy concepts ensure the greatest possible safety and the best long-term results. Furthermore, the center enjoys the globally recognized leading position for the application of catheter-assisted aortic valve implantation (TAVI) via the inguinal vein. Individual treatment methods, state-of-the-art medical equipment and the assurance of a warm, personal care atmosphere create the most important prerequisites to noticeably and sustainably improve our patients' quality of life.
With a medical focus on cardiac surgery, cardiology, anesthesiology and intensive care, we offer further comprehensive diagnostic measures and non-surgical therapies for all heart diseases, for example TAVI (minimally invasive heart valve replacement), defibrillator and pacemaker implantations, interventional mitral valve therapy (MitraClip), electrophysiological examinations (EPU), ablation procedures, highly complex coronary interventions. In addition, Sana Herzzentrum Cottbus has three operating rooms, a cardiac catheterization unit, two hybrid rooms equipped with state-of-the-art medical technology, an emergency procedure room and a total of 85 beds.
