Dr. Casañas heads Traumaunit, the traumatology and orthopedic surgery unit at the Centro Médico Teknon Grupo Quirónsalud. Dr. Casañas is a renowned specialist in peripheral nerve and hand surgery, devoting himself exclusively to the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the hand and upper limbs. Dr. Casañas and the Trauma Unit team offers a multidisciplinary approach, and particularly in the diseases of the peripheral nerve and brachial plexus performing assisted-surgery through intraoperative electrophysiological study, with the collaboration of a neurologist before, during, and after the operation.
Dr. Casañas completed his Degree in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Barcelona (1993) and specialized in Orthopedic Surgery and Traumatology via MIR by the University Hospital of Bellvitge (1989-1993). He later went on to pursue the Doctor of Medicine and Surgery from the University of Barcelona in 2000. He also holds a Diploma in Integrated Health Systems ESADE (Health Management) and Hand Surgery after level examination and certification of practical merits from the Federation of European Societies.
He is the author of several book chapters and specialized publications on Orthopedic Surgery and Traumatology at a national and international level.
