About the Doctor / Professional
Professor Dr. Fabian Knebel studied human medicine at renowned German universities - Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich, Free University of Berlin and Humboldt University in Berlin. He attended King's College London and during his practical year at Harvard Medical School and the University of Cape Town. With specialty in internal medicine and cardiology, Professor Dr. Fabian Knebel also acquired extensive additional qualifications in the fields of interventional cardiology and cardiac insufficiency at the German Society for Cardiology (DGK). From 2018 onwards, he has been involved in setting up the Charité Amyloidosis Center (ACCB) and is in regular exchange with the colleagues of cardio-thoracic surgery (German Heart Center Berlin, Charité – Universitätsmedizin).
Professor Dr. Fabian Knebel is the Head of the Department for Internal Medicine II with a focus on cardiology at Sana Hospital Lichtenberg and dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular diseases. For this purpose, we have extensive cardio-pulmonary function diagnostics at the highest level, four places equipped with high-end echocardiography machines and three dimensional ultrasound, contrast enhanced echocardiography, deformation imaging. In addition, the state-of-the-art echo lab is certified by the European Association of Cardiovaascular Imangig (EACVI) of the European Society of Cardiology (ESC).
Medical Focus
- Invasive and non-invasive cardiology, e.g. PTCA, stent implantations, rotablation, drug eluting balloons, endomyocardial biopsies
- Full rage of diagnostics (intravascular ultrasound, OCT, FFR, RFR)
- Invasive hemodynamics
- Coronary angiographies and interventions 24/7
- Cardiac arrhythmias / electrophysiology, cardiac pacemaker
- Interventional valve therapy
