Heart Center Dresden University Hospital

The Heart Center Dresden University Hospital is one of the most modern hospitals in the Dresden region. Patients from all over the world are offered the entire spectrum of cardiological and cardiac surgical maximum care, including heart transplants for adults, which includes hybrid surgeries. More than 660 employees in four specialist departments and centers of excellence, work hand in hand under one roof for the world-class healthcare: The hospital welcomes more than 10,000 inpatients and 15,000 outpatients every year.

At the Heart Center Dresden, four operating theatres, three left heart catheterisation stations (including one measuring station with hybrid conditions) and a hybrid operating theatre, which combines the advantages of a conventional operating theatre with that of a left heart catheter, are available for patient care. For pre- and aftercare, the Heart Center has 190 beds, of which 95 beds each in the Department for Internal Medicine and Cardiology and in the Department for Cardiac Surgery, which are divided into intensive care, intermediate and normal care beds according to the graduated care concept. In addition, on the ground floor there are research laboratories for scientific activity in cardiology and cardiac surgery.
